UVA's All-Decade Team (2000-2009)
QB
Schaub was a no-brainer.
RB
Antwoine Womack probably would have merited serious consideration if he hadn't been
injured and missed most of the season in 2001.
WR
Deyon Williams was the #3 receiver, but McMullen and Ogletree were the clear choices
at #1 and #2.
TE
Big Money was the clear choice here.
OL
Ferguson, Monroe, Brown and Albert were easy selections. An argument could be made
for Jordan Lipsey over Yarbrough at center.
The votes are in, and our panel of experts (read: me) has finalized its selections
for UVa's All-Decade Team for 2000-2009.  My final cuts / close calls are below.
Offense can be found
here; defense can be found here; and special teams can
be found
here.
DL
Long and Canty were clear choices. NT came down to Andrew Hoffman and Nate
Collins. Hoffman was very good over a longer period, but Collins was dominant his
senior season.
LB
There were five great linebackers for four spots. Kai Parham was the odd man out.
DB
At cornerback, the second spot came down to Dowling and Muffin Curry, with Dowling
coming out ahead by a slim margin. At safety, a case could be made for Nate Lyles over
Newby.
K
Hughes was head and shoulders above everyone else.
P
The final choice came down to Abrams and Ryan Weigand.
KR
Weeks was the clear choice here.
PR
Alvin Pearman was the #2 choice behind Biscuit.
Holder
To be honest, I didn't spend a lot of time ranking our holders.
Gunner
This was a tough one, with the final decision coming down to Sawyer and Ike Ekejiuba.
