Misc.
Certain players have what appear to be blue stickers on their helmets.  Some of
the stickers are star-shaped, while others appear to be football or oval-shaped.
The stickers were presumably given out by the coaching staff based on some
type of reward system.
With the exception of 1975, UVa had the same helmet design from 1967-1977, a
period spanning four different head coaches (George Blackburn, Don Lawrence,
Sonny Randle, and Dick Bestwick). The Hoos switched to this design prior to
Coach Bestwick's third season as head coach and wore it for the remainder of
his tenure (1978-1981).
